What is Counselling?
Counselling provides a space to explore distress and upset, concerns and feelings in a respectful, confidential and compassionate setting. It is a place where we can look at stressors in our life and heal emotional pain. Counselling can help you find the tools to cope with life’s adversities and to make sense of what is happening for you. It can be a time of reflection, increased awareness, and an opportunity to get to know yourself at a deeper level. Counsellors listen without judgement and are there to facilitate people in the telling of their stories and experiences with support. Counselling can be particularly helpful at times of high stress, during major life-changes, when we are dealing with loss, when dealing with shame, and when issues and/or relationships remain unresolved.
To put it simply: It is where you can talk about what is happening for you in a safe space, and where you are listened to and supported with respect. Counselling can help you feel better.
